I'm 53 and grew up playing the coin-op cabinet at our corner 7-11, and this version is SPOT ON!! Thanks, Developers! Big Love to ya! Having said that: I play with an Xbox controller plugged into my tablet, and the game even recognizes it. Will you please make the on-screen buttons vanish upon detection of a controller? Oh, and a pause button with restart delay as another reviewer suggested. Those are my ONLY complaints and the reason for the 4-star rating. Change it and I'll give you 5.

The game is great and just like I remember it. I tried a couple other Phoenix games that were bundled with other games. Let me tell you, they sucked! Just play it and enjoy yourself. You will get used to the controls if you play, it's that simple (PRACTICE). You're not standing in front of the actual arcade machine. The buttons and joystick will be missed but just for a while. Someone that grew up playing and liking this game should give at least 4 stars. Great job dev!

Great rendition. However, although this is the arcade version, it would still be nice to have a pause button. And then when you unpause, give a three second delay depending if you black out the screen or not, so going back to the action will not be so jarring. Also allow for different placement of buttons altogether. I find the barrier and the fire button too close together. We should be able to adjust that to our liking.
